Gosh, I can't even remember when I wrote the last entry but I figure it must have been sometime around September.

Well, since then a lot has happened! I actually founded my own musice website and it's taking off quite nicely. It's now at the stage where I can't remember the last time I actually had to pay to see a band. Not like we're making any money but press passes make you feel so smug!
We've also just announced our first club night! The organising is driving me absolutely mental but it's going to be great.

Uni is going alright I think. My attendance was absolutely appaling last term but I'm gonna do better this semester. Finding a job after uni absolutely freaks me out though.

That's kinda it at the moment. I promise I won't wait another 4 months for another update!

*sigh*

Uni starts again tomorrow. Hope I won't forgot to actually go to class. Have to say, I'm quite looking forward to have something to do again that give some kind of routine during the week. Also signed up for the gym. I know, that's quite out of character but it's absolutely necessary.

Got quite some big news as well. Harry, Claire and I have started out own company. Yup, we founded our own music website. The website itself is still under construction but the Myspace is already up and running: www.myspace.com/cakespank
I know the name is strange but we wanted to have something random. Now we have to deal with all kinds of things: press releases, flyers, launch party, business cards, pr contacts, etc.
It's stressful but also fun! Although I think we might never make any money out of it.

Now for some Camden gossip:
Our Doug is now probably the most famous landlord in England since Amy made him pick up her Vodafone Live Music Award on national telly. Meanwhile she was sitting in the pub watching it live on telly :) The thing is now standing behind the bar. It's bloody heavy!
Oh, and Michelle will be back on Saturday. Going to do some detox this week so more damage can be done!

Hey everybody!

God, can't believe haven't been posting for a month. But in my defence it was a very stressful month.

First I stayed with my parents for 10 days (way too long!)during which I almost saw none of you because I managed to catch a virus and otherwise was dragged from one part of the family to the other. Went sraight from the airport to the pub when I came back. At least Michelle, who came back from Dublin that day, did the same. What a bunch of sad people we are...

And big news! As some of you already know, I moved house! Yup, still in Camden but an upgrade in every way possible. Less rent, bigger bed, better kichen, a balcony, a TV!!!, nicer kitchen and it is on Hawley Road...Yes, you heard right. I now live 3 min away from my second home which now makes it officially my local.

And here's my new address for you:

9 Torbay Court
Clarence Way
NW1 8RL
London
Tel: 02074826389

Also picked my new modules for the new semester last week. Only have three classes a week. The rest of the time I'm supposed to work on my dissertation. Yeah, right...
Oh, and for all of you who didn't know yet, yes, I am going to stay in London for at least another year.

Will post pics of the new flat soon!

Hello everybody!

Sorry, that there was no update for a while but I was so busy with doing nothing... :P Cat had two weeks off so we spent a lot of time on the park, in the pub and at the cinema for the noon showings.
I also went on a weekend trip to Manchester and Liverpool. Claire's parents live in Warrington which is exactly in the middle of both so we stayed there and did little day trips. Saw the Harry Potter film on the Friday and then queued at midnight to get the new book. Took me 2 1/2 days to get through and I think it was brilliant. In Liverpool we went to the Beatles museum. It is amazing! And like the pathetic wimp that I am, I almost started crying in the John Lennon part (it was very emotional!).
Last weekend I went to Weymouth with Cat. It was great! We stayed at her parents, who are so much like mine when it comes to the amount of food that is "forced" on you. I love the British seaside! So tacky in the tourists towns but absolutely stunning further out. I even got a tan!

Anyway, I am coming home next week for ten days. 9th - 19th of August. I hope some of you sods will be around! :)

Saturday was brilliant!!!

We went ot the Hackney Empire to see Up the Empire - A night of cabaret and music. It was grand! The theatre is absolutely beautifil! Looks like it has been directly transported through time from the Victorian age. First the Fay Wrays and Lisa Moorish were playing acoustic sets from one of the balconies, then Glasvegas played (they were rubbish), then a Canadian comedian was booed off stage and in the interval they had a piano player on stage. After 15 min break, the Paddingtons went on-stage. Absolutely brilliant! Don't know why I waited so long to see them live. Another Canadian comedian was booed off stage next and the Matt Saunders played a one-man set, followed by Steven Merchant introducing Dirty Pretty Things (he was the only comedian to survive the night, and of course the host, Trevor Lock). Band was brilliant as always. First highlight was Adam Green as a special guest singing "Jessica Simpson" and then "Friends of Mine" together with Lisa Moorish. Rest of the set was business as usualy, except the fact that the audience was more mental than usual. Carl and Adam very dragged into the audience at several points during the evening and there were a million attempts at stage invasion. Highly entertaining! But the best was the finally. They played "I Get Along" and all the bands came back onstage. Complete chaos and mayham! That's how I like my live music! Took us an hour back to Camden from Hackney on the nightbus though. But it was sooooo worth it!

Spent all day in the park today getting drunk. Am knackered now. Good night.

Oi!

Yes, still alive. Just been on Michelle time for the last two weeks. Meaning, coming home in broad daylight, sleeping all day, leaving the house again at 10pm, repeat as necessary. Worst day way last friday which saw us dragged to some random girl's house by Noel and I ended up waiting for the bus in Kentish Town at 7.30am in the morning. Ugh. In need of serious re-grouping (our term for regeneration). Still, had a blast.

More importantly, i passed all my exams!!! Yup, you heard right, although I did fuck all and wrote most of my essays a day before they were due, I passed more than half of my modules with a 2-1 (1.5)!

At the moment Anita, a friend from home, is staying with me until Sunday. We went to Oxford yesterday, and had breakfast at Fifteen today, had a stroll over Borough Market and then went to Whole Foods (three floor high organic supermarket on Kensington High Street). It was all about eating today :) Tomorrow we're going to Portobello Road Market and in the evening we have tickets's for "Up the Empire", a mix of bands, cabaret and poetry at the Hackney Empire (DPT are playing...).

That's all at the moment. Will update again next week. Might go to the Smallest Festival in the World at Cargo on Sunday and I have to see the new Harry Potter.

Hello everybody! I am back from the mudfest! Can still find mud in the most unspeakable places :) But it was fabulous! Thank God I'm not squeamish though. Had to wash my hair in a wheel barrell *lol* That's the farm life!

Right, where do I start? Well, I knew Glasto was big but I wasn't prepared for a site that is probably as big as Camden Town. It took you between 15 and 30 minutes to get from stage to stage (you were only able to walk half the normal speed because of THE MUD) which was why I missed a couple of bands I wanted to see. I just couldn't make it in time. The best way to describe Glasto is probably a themepark built around live music.

We saw the strangest things! If you are at Glasto, just wander around for a while and you come across some seriously weird and amazing shit! We found a beach in the Greenfields, an ark in the Greenpeace field, gothic ballet pole dancers and girls with hooks and chains throught their back in Trash City, a living jukebox (The Dukebox) with 5 musicians crammed into a glass box playing whatever you wanted them to, the smallest night club in the world (The Miniscule of Sound) and an Alice in Wonderland mase in the Circus field. There was also a chapel where you were able to get married or divorced (not legally binding of course) and a silent disco (everyone getting the same music through headphones). Of course there were also hippies everywhere.

I'm not going to give you a detailed review of the bands but a list with the ones I've seen and good/bad/so so behind it:

Kid Harpoon (good)
Mr Hudson and the Library (so so)
The Cribs (good)
Kate Nash (good)
Modest Mouse (good)
Bloc Party (good)
The Fratellis (good)
Björk (so so)
Guillemots (good)
Dirty Pretty Things (good)
CSS (so so)
Klaxons (good)
Paul Weller (good)
The Kooks (bad)
Iggy and the Stooges (good)
The Holloways (good)
Cold War Kids (good)
The Rumble Strips (good)
Shirley Bassey (good)
Manic Street Preachers (good)
Kaiser Chiefs (so so)
The Who (good)

I know this seems to be a lot but I still missed so many because I couldn't make it in time. I could have seen Rufus Wainwright, The Coral and Patrick Wolf if it wouldn't have been for THE MUD!

THE MUD already stroke on Thursday and a completey hammered Liz slipped and split her eyebrow. I don't recommend it.

Otherwise we managed to stay quite dry until Monday when we had to dismantel the tent in the pouring rain and then had to sit on a three hour coach ride in our wet clothes. I have a cold and it doesn't surprise me.

But since I am not a sensible girl and Michelle is in town again, I went out on Tuesday with her. The Charlatans were supporting The Who at Wembley Arena and we were watching form backstage. The party then continued at the hotel and the only things I can really remember are that there was a telephone in the bathroom and that I discussed the merits of camping at Glasto with Carl. I came home around 3am and was utterly broken the next morning. Yay me!

Okay, that's it for now. I'm going back to cleaning my tent...

Right, everyone who didn't get my overly excited Myspace bulletin, I am leaving for Glastonbury tomorrow and won't be back until next Monday.

Sorry that there hasn't been an update in a while but first nothing worth mentioning happened (besides me getting hammered in the you're all probably sick of thsoe stories by now) and then my Mum came to visit and I was too busy.

But I promise a long update with stories about my festival shenanigans when I'm back!

See ya!!!
